The city of Boca Raton’s annual holiday tree lighting is taking place on Wednesday, November 21 at Mizner Park Amphitheater from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. In addition to the tree lighting, there will be a stage show, rides, games, “snow”, and pictures with Santa. Admission is free and open to the public.
In alignment with the tree lighting, the Boca Museum of Art offers free admission to commemorate the official start of the holiday season. There’s something for kids and adults of any and all ages to enjoy during this festive night in Boca Raton.
For a more luxurious South Florida holidays celebration, spend Thanksgiving day dinner on the Biscayne Lady in Miami on Thursday, November 22 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. This dinner cruise is both festive and high-class and is a unique alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving Day activities.
Dinner on the Biscayne lady consists of family-style seating, buffet courses, and an open bar. This dinner cruise provides you with the Thanksgiving Day fixings you know and love, but with a sophisticated twist. Ticket prices range from $65 to $95, and seating is limited.
If you prefer spending Thanksgiving at home, there is also a Christmas Day dinner option instead. Ticket pricing, buffet courses, and the open bar all apply during this dinner cruise, too.
The annual “Panthers In The Park” Winterfest Family Fun Day is taking place on Sunday, November 25th in Las Olas. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, your kids or grandkids can enjoy an ice skating, winter experience courtesy of the Florida Panthers. This fun-filled day offers kids the ability to go on the unofficial “Polar Express” train, a fair super-slide, face painting, a petting zoo, and more. The annual Clematis by Night Tree Lighting is taking place on Thursday, November 29 in West Palm Beach on Clematis. This tree lighting is unlike any other because this holiday tree is made entirely of sand! This sand sculpture—referred to as Sandi— lighting kicks off a month-long series of events including nightly light shows, mini golf, additional sand sculptures, trivia night, and more.
This year, Sandi the holiday tree has a new addition: a foster dog! As showcased on Instagram, this new addition is a hit for kids and adults of all ages. Spend your holidays in paradise and visit West Palm Beach!

Ready to spend the day in one of the beautiful beaches of South Florida? Put on your swimsuit, grab your sunscreen and be prepared to have a blast. Here is the list of our top 5 favorite beaches in South Florida you must visit.
If you are visiting Delray Beach, also known as the “Village by the Sea”, you have to spend the day at the beach. Make sure to take your little ones, as this is perhaps the most family-friendly beach in our list. The beach in Delray has a 2 mile stretch of public beachfront and has won many awards, including “Best Restored Beach.” Dip into the clear turquoise waters or relax on the white sands. You can also have fun by playing a game of beach volleyball by the water. This beach is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. Stay to watch the sunset and enjoy dinner at a local seafood restaurant just minutes away from the beach.
Fall in love with the pristine waters of Deerfield Beach. This beach stretches out for about one mile and is protected by lifeguards 365 days a year. This beach earned the “Blue Wave” award for excellent water quality, cleanliness, and safety services, along with other criteria. Once there, build a sand castle with your kids or swim in the blue waters. If you want to hit the waves, surfing is permitted north of the pier. There is also a spot reserved for surfers south of tower seven. When visiting, you should also check out the recreational areas north of the pier. There, enjoy a game of beach volleyball in one of the nine volleyball courts free for public use.
Relax on the warm sands of the all-natural beach at Boca Raton. The beachfront stretches for two miles and has several lifeguard stands for your safety. This beach is usually quiet and is popular with families. If you want to go surfing here, be sure to ride the waves at the south end of the beach. If you are new to surfing and want to try out this exhilarating sport, you can check out local surf shops that offer lessons, sometimes for free. There are three city parks surrounding the beach, so take your kids to play in one of the playgrounds. You can also take your family to Red Reef Park for some fun snorkeling in the reefs as close to ten feet from the shore. After, have a barbecue and enjoy a picnic with your family.
Another one of our favorite beaches in South Florida is Hollywood Beach. Soak up the sun in the sand and splash around in the water. You can also walk, skate or rollerblade in the famous boardwalk that stretches for 2.5 miles. If you take your little ones with you, check out Charnow Park so your kids can enjoy playing in the splash fountain. Make sure to also check out the Hollywood Beach Theater, an outdoor theater where you can enjoy free entertainment just steps away from the beach. Stay for lunch or dinner and dine in one of the many waterfront restaurants. There is a wide variety of choices for all tastes.
The world-famous South Beach had to make our list of favorite beaches. The beach here has a vibrant atmosphere and is a fun place to visit at any time of the year. Join a game of beach volleyball in one of the several courts by the beach or workout in the outdoor fitness area at Lummus park, where you will find pull-up bars, sit-up benches, and much more. Later, cool off in the crystal blue waters. When you work up an appetite, there are plenty of restaurants you can choose from right across the beach. You can also grab a refreshing cocktail in one of the bars just minutes away from the sand. You are guaranteed to have a blast at South Beach.

It seems like there is always something to do down here in South Florida. This area is teeming with life and excitement, so narrowing down these events was pretty difficult.
1. Boca Burger Battle
This one should be on the list for all the dads out there. The Boca Burger Battle goes down on July 15th in Boca Raton. The grills light up Sanborn Square Park as some of the best grillers in the country descend upon the town. This event is 21+, since there is drinking. $50 is general admission, which gets you unlimited tastings and three drink tickets. Live music from one of the world’s premier reggae/country bands will be entertaining the crowds this year. The judges are all expert chefs, and you could learn a thing or two to bring back to your own grill.
2. Sick Puppies Comedy Show Improv
Like the last one, this is for the more mature audience. The Improv here is more than just a show. The crowd is not only allowed to yell out, but is actively encouraged to participate and make the night that much more exciting. Local actors and comedians come out to put on a show for you. The laughs roll all night long. These events happen on a regular basis, so take a date with you on a Saturday night and laugh your tail off.
3. Delray Beach 4th of July
This one is a family affair. You can start with the sand sculpting at noon, then hang out all day. Putt-putt golf will be there, as will live music. At 9:00 PM, the fireworks start. Officials from the city are going to be on hand to count down for the fireworks. Grab a towel, head up to the beach, and celebrate America.
4. 6×6 Art Sale
If you love art and are in Delray Beach, this one is an absolute must. All pieces of art are 6 x 6, and cost the same $30. It is $5 to get in. This is going to be on the 27th of July, from 6 to 8 PM. The artists donate their works, and the proceeds of the sales all go to charity. Before everyone bids on the works, you will have an opportunity to preview the art. This will take place at the Crest Theatre Galleries.
5. Summertime BBQ Bash
Not only do you get to eat a whole mess of barbecue, you get to benefit the Twin Palms Center for the Disabled. On August 10, head down to 35th Street to dine upon some of the best barbecue you will ever have. This one is going to be fun for the whole family, and if you buy your tickets ahead of time they will be cheaper. 5 Spice Asian Street Market, a local establishment, sponsors this event.
