Personal and Professional HighlightFort Lauderdale native, father of five, and second-generation roofing professional whose early experience came through his father’s small roofing operation.
Willie Janes joined Aastro Roofing Company in 2022 and serves as a Driver and Ground Supervisor. A Fort Lauderdale native who grew up around his father’s roofing business, Willie supports material logistics while providing ground-level observation, property-protection oversight, and communication on active roofing projects. He serves as an additional set of eyes and ears for Aastro and its customers, and his attentive service has led customers to mention him repeatedly by name in Aastro’s online reviews. A lifelong Broward County resident and father of five, Willie is an integral part of Aastro Roofing Company’s commitment to supervised, organized, and accountable roofing operations.

A Fort Lauderdale Native Raised Around Roofing

Willie Janes was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, attended school in the area, and continues to live in Broward County. His introduction to roofing began within his own family. Willie’s father operated a small roofing business with a limited crew, giving Willie early exposure to the realities of the trade.

He learned that roofing is physical, demanding work requiring preparation, organization, attention to detail, and responsibility for the property beneath the roof. He also saw how a small roofing operation depends on every person being willing to perform multiple responsibilities, solve problems, and communicate clearly.

Because Willie grew up in South Florida and around roofing work, he developed practical familiarity with the climate, construction conditions, application standards, and code-conscious work practices that affect roofing projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Joining Aastro Roofing Company

Willie joined Aastro Roofing Company in 2022 as a Driver and Ground Supervisor. The driver portion of his position supports the movement of roofing materials, tools, equipment, and supplies between Aastro’s warehouse and active projects.

Roofing production depends on materials arriving at the correct property, in usable condition, and at the appropriate time. A delay involving shingles, underlayment, fasteners, flashing materials, tools, or equipment can affect the entire crew and project schedule.

Willie works with Aastro’s purchasing, warehouse, production, and field personnel to help move those resources where they are required. He may deliver or retrieve materials, transport equipment, identify shortages, and communicate logistical needs back to the warehouse or management team.

A Dedicated Ground-Level Presence

Willie’s ground-supervisor responsibility is one of the more distinctive parts of Aastro Roofing Company’s production model.

On an active roofing project, the production foreman must concentrate on directing the crew, interpreting the scope of work, managing installation sequencing, monitoring workmanship, and resolving technical issues on the roof. Those responsibilities naturally keep much of the foreman’s attention above ground level.

Willie provides another perspective. From the ground, he can observe property-protection measures, material storage and handling, access around the building, falling-debris risks, landscaping and exterior features, vehicles, driveways, walkways, entrances, jobsite cleanliness, customer questions, and the overall progress of the project.

Willie is not intended to replace the production foreman or take control of the roofing installation. The foreman remains responsible for leading the crew and directing the technical work. Willie functions as an independent observer and communicator. When he notices a condition requiring attention, he can make the foreman aware of it or communicate the concern to the Field Supervisor, Production Manager, warehouse, or other appropriate Aastro team member.

The Eyes and Ears of the Project

Willie’s role helps create a communication connection that may not otherwise exist on a busy roofing project.

Roof replacement can temporarily affect parking, access, landscaping, pets, pools, outdoor furniture, deliveries, and the normal movement of people around a property. Customers may also have questions as the work progresses or notice something they want the company to review.

Because Willie is present at ground level, he can often receive that information directly and help ensure it reaches the appropriate field leader. His responsibility is to listen, observe, document when appropriate, and connect the customer or condition with the person authorized to respond.

In that sense, Willie serves as an additional link between the customer, roofing crew, production foreman, field supervision, production management, and Aastro’s warehouse and office personnel. This additional level of communication supports Aastro’s operating principle that roofing projects should be supervised, documented, communicated, and accountable.

Protecting the Property Around the Roof

Most customers hire a roofing contractor to work on the roof, but the project affects the entire property. Materials may be delivered into a driveway. Debris must be removed from the roof. Ladders and equipment must be positioned safely. Landscaping, windows, walls, air-conditioning equipment, pool areas, walkways, and vehicles may be located near active work zones.

Willie helps observe those surrounding conditions. He watches for materials positioned in an unsafe or inconvenient area, debris falling outside the intended work zone, blocked access routes, property-protection measures needing adjustment, cleanup falling behind production, materials running low, equipment requiring relocation, or conditions that should be brought to management’s attention.

The ground-supervisor position does not eliminate every possible risk associated with roofing work. It does, however, create another level of observation and accountability that can help identify problems sooner.

Recognized for Customer Service

During his tenure at Aastro Roofing Company, Willie has developed a reputation for attentive and dependable service.

Customers have repeatedly mentioned Willie by name in Aastro’s online reviews, reflecting the positive impression he makes through his jobsite presence, communication, professionalism, and willingness to assist.

That recognition is especially meaningful because Willie’s work is often performed outside the traditional sales or management spotlight. Customers remember him because he is present, accessible, and willing to help make the project easier to understand.

Family and South Florida Roots

Willie remains closely connected to Broward County, where he was raised and where he continues to live with his family. He is a father of five, and family plays an important role in the responsibility and consistency he brings to his work.

His personal history reflects two generations of connection to roofing—from learning around his father’s small roofing operation to serving customers as part of a larger, professionally structured South Florida roofing company.

That background gives Willie an understanding of both sides of the industry. He understands the hands-on realities of a small family roofing operation while also working within Aastro’s broader structure of purchasing, warehouse coordination, production management, field supervision, working foremen, documentation, and customer communication.

An Integral Part of the Aastro Process

Willie’s position may not always be the most visible role on a roofing company’s organizational chart, but it is a valuable part of Aastro Roofing Company’s operating process.

He helps materials reach the field. He supports the warehouse and production departments. He observes the property while the foreman manages the roofing installation. He listens to customers. He communicates concerns. He watches for safety, organization, cleanliness, and property-protection issues.

Most importantly, Willie provides continuity between the people working on the roof and everything happening around the project at ground level.

Since joining Aastro Roofing Company in 2022, Willie Janes has become a trusted member of the team and an important part of the company’s commitment to communication, service, supervision, and accountability.
