Project Management
Nicole Oliver
Fourth-Generation Roofing Roots
Nicole Oliver is the Project Manager at Aastro Roofing Company, where she helps oversee the administrative side of residential and commercial roofing projects throughout South Florida. Since joining Aastro Roofing Company in 2018, Nicole has become an integral part of the company’s operations, coordinating many of the details required to move roof repair and roof replacement projects from signed contract through permitting, production, inspections, and completion.
Her connection to roofing began long before she officially became part of Aastro. Nicole is a fourth-generation member of the Blair family with roots in roofing. Her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all roofers, giving her a family connection to the trade that spans generations.
Growing up around the industry gave Nicole an early understanding that a successful roofing project involves much more than the work taking place on the roof. Behind every installation are scheduling requirements, permits, inspections, documentation, material coordination, customer communication, and dozens of administrative details that must come together correctly.
A Lifelong Connection to South Florida Roofing
Nicole grew up primarily in Hazel Park, Michigan, and attended Hazel Park High School. Her connection to South Florida started during childhood. Following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, her father relocated to the Boca Raton area to help meet the demand for roof repairs and roof replacements created by the storm.
That connection between the Blair family, roofing, and South Florida continued through the major Florida hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, when members of the family again worked in Southeast Florida as property owners dealt with widespread roofing and construction damage.
Years later, an opportunity at Aastro Roofing Company provided Nicole a path back to South Florida. In 2018, she relocated to the area and joined Aastro, beginning a career that would place her at the center of the company’s roofing project-management and administrative operations.
Managing Roofing Projects from Contract to Completion
Today, Nicole helps manage roofing projects from the administrative side from beginning to end. Once a roofing contract enters the production process, she works to ensure that the documentation, permitting, scheduling, and project requirements necessary to move the job forward are properly coordinated.
Her responsibilities include roofing permit coordination, municipal permitting documentation, project scheduling, inspection coordination, project records, administrative paperwork, and communication between customers, office personnel, and the production department.
This role is especially important in South Florida, where roofing projects frequently involve detailed municipal permitting requirements, building inspections, product documentation, wind-related installation requirements, and coordination between multiple departments.
The Work Customers Do Not Always See
Nicole serves as an important connection between Aastro Roofing Company’s customers, project administration, permitting, scheduling, and roofing production teams. Her job is to help make sure the work being planned in the office aligns with what must happen in the field.
Homeowners often see the physical portion of a roof replacement—the materials arriving, the crew working, and the finished roof—but much of the project takes place behind the scenes. Nicole and the project-management team coordinate that less-visible portion so customers do not have to navigate roofing permits, municipal paperwork, inspection scheduling, and internal production coordination on their own.
Over the years, her knowledge of Aastro’s internal processes has made her a key part of keeping roofing projects organized and moving forward.
A Role of Her Own Within the Family Tradition
Nicole’s story remains closely tied to the multigenerational roofing heritage of the Blair family. She represents the fourth generation of a family connected to the roofing trade while building a role within the industry that is distinctly her own.
Rather than working directly on the roof, Nicole manages the systems and administrative processes that allow Aastro’s roofing crews and field leadership to perform their work.
Family continues to be an important part of the culture around Aastro Roofing Company. Around the office, there is an ongoing joke that the fifth generation may already be in training for the roofing industry.
Since joining Aastro Roofing Company in 2018, Nicole has transformed a family connection into a career in roofing project management and has become an important part of the team responsible for keeping projects permitted, documented, scheduled, coordinated, and moving toward completion throughout Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
